Tiffany Cooper is a French author and illustrator. Having worked in the art and fashion industry up until 2012, she then decided to leave her job and start up a humoristic blog of her own cartoons. With her popularity growing this would be a platform in which she was then able to create her first book to be published. Following the release, Tiffany has now collaborated successfully with many brands and stores including Colette, K-Way & Sunnylife Australia. Furthermore, she has now published three more books including Karl’s secrets, a graphic novel about Karl Lagerfeld’s life, with whom she’s collaborated on a capsule collection with back in 2015.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE?
I would say pop, colorful and fun!
WHAT DOES “OFF THE WALL” MEAN TO YOU?
I have this image of a skater jumping off a wall.
WHAT ARE YOUR MAIN INSPIRATIONS?
The illustrations of Jacques Sempé, Gary Larson and Voutch. But also, a ton of other things: my Instagram feed, TV shows, paintings by David Hockney, standup comedy and just about anything that catches my attention in the street or in a conversation.
WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST PAIR OF VANS?
I think it was a pair of black Authentics. Then I had a Slip On phase (leopard print, suede, blue, indigo and white…) and now I’m back on the Authentics again!
WHAT HAVE BEEN SOME OF YOUR FAVORITE REACTIONS TO YOUR WORK?
I think my favorite reaction was when Karl Lagerfeld told me he loved my vision of him and his cat Choupette!
IF YOU COULD DO A COLLABORATIVE PIECE WITH ANY ARTIST, LIVING OR DEAD, WHO WOULD IT BE?
I have already worked with my idol Karl Lagerfeld! But I would love to do an animated show with some actors I find hilarious like Louis CK, Aziz Ansari or Amy Schumer.
WHAT ARE SOME FAVORITE WORKS YOU’VE CREATED?
I recently collaborated with SunnyLife Australia and designed some fun pool floats and beach accessories, that was cool! I’m proud of every one of my graphic novels. Although working with Karl, that was some big achievement!
WHAT THINGS DO YOU HAVE PLANNED FOR 2017/2018?
I am working on a small animated show as well as an illustrated cook book for kids. I have some cool collaborations coming soon but these are still confidential, so stay tuned!
